Rev. Billy Ball 08/18/1940-12/13/2023 Rev. Billy Ball, age 83, of Newport, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 13, 2023 surrounded by his children. Rev. Ball was a minister for fifty-seven years and a member of Cosby Missionary Baptist Church. He was a carpenter for many years and had a love for hunting. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of fifty-three years Wilma Ball; mother Joneta Ball; father Arlis Ball; sister Edna Sellers and Janelle Trentham; brothers Eugene Ball, Brady Ball and Jack Ball. Survivors include his children Eddie (Mary) Ball, Berta Ball, Denise (Mike) Jacobson, Marty (Mindy) Ball, and Cathy Ball; grandchildren Justin Grigsby, Tara (Shannon) Shelton, Ashton (Zakk) Smith, Cierra Ball, Kailye (Kasey) Carson, Chevy Ball, Cameron Dey, Josh Ball and Caleb Ball; great-grandchildren Daegan and Elijah Shelton, Zayla Smith and Everly Carson; brothers Robert Lee Ball, Sherman Ball, Dwain (Jane) Ball, Larue (Sharon) Ball and W.L. (Judy) Ball; sisters Inez Wallin and Rady (Johnny) Raines. Additional survivors include many nieces and nephews and friends including special best friend Pig Shropshire. Funeral services will be held 7:00 P.M. Friday, December 15, 2023 at Costner-Maloy & Brown Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Sutton and Rev. Terry Green and Rev. Dave Marshall officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:45 A.M. Saturday morning, December 16, 2023 at Shady Grove Cemetery for the 11:00 A.M. interment. Family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.
